The south’s queen of cuisine is recovering this morning after getting slammed by a ham.

Food Network and tv cooking star Paula Deen was hit in the face with 30 pounds of flying frozen ham as she and other volunteers were promoting a holiday food drive in Atlanta.

As she started to unload all the meat from the truck a volunteer threw one of the hams to an unprepared Deen Deen is just fine.

Tara Lynn interviewed Deen on My News 2 at 11 today.  Check out the interview here: http://www2.counton2.com/cbd/lifestyles/my_news_2/article/my_news_2_thanksgiving_with_paula_deen/88145/

Ms. Paula Dean is my hero chef and I am so sorry to see you were hurt on national television last night while doing volunteer work. It was an irresponsible act on the volunteer’s part to throw a 30 lb. ham at you and hope they will be more careful in the future. You handled it like a true southern lady Paula, best wishes to you in all that you do!
