Mount Pleasant voters on Tuesday elected Billy Swails their new mayor.
Here are the results:
Billy Swails 5,935 (45.5%)
Joe Bustos 4,242 (32.5%)
Gary Santos 2,832 (21.7%)

Early returns show Billy Swails leading in the race to be the next Mount Pleasant mayor.
The results so far are:
Billy Swails 949
Joe Bustos 695
Gary Santos 466

The Charleston County Election Commission has released absentee voting numbers in the race for Mount Pleasant Mayor.
The results are as follows:
Joe Bustos: 224
Gary Santos: 127
Billy Swails: 241
