Some people are starting to board up their homes in Georgetown County as the track for Hanna moves closer to their homes near the coast.  County officials are keeping a voluntary evacuation in place for people living east of business Highway 17 and those living in flood-prone areas.

Pleasant Hill Elementary School is now a shelter for people who choose to evacuate.  If you go, bring identification, a blanket and medications you need.  Pets and weapons are not allowed.

If you do choose to stay in Georgetown, emergency vehicles will not be on the roads once winds reach 40 mph to protect the lives of emergency responders.
