The Boys & Girls Club of the Trident Area is starting a summer English Language program to help the Hispanic students of Goodwin Elementary school.  These students are from Spanish speaking homes and over the summer they lose much of the English language progress made during the academic year.  This program is designed to help them maintain and improve upon the English skills they learned during the school year.  The program specifics are as follows:

Location:  Collins Park, 4115 Fellowship Road, North Charleston
Cost:  Free
Dates:  Monday, June 15 - Thursday, July 16 (Monday - Thursday only)
Time:  8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Student profile:  Hispanic children between the ages of 6 and 10

There will be three certified teachers from Goodwin Elementary School working with this program who will teach, and provide direction and materials for instruction.  Volunteers will be working both in small groups and one-on-one with students helping with reading, educational games, spelling, vocabulary, etc.
