Families making financial resolutions
Families gathered in Marion Square to prepare for the count down to 2009 and this year’s celebration may have you thinking about cutting down some numbers of your own.
“We’ve cut back on a lot of things,“ said Bryan Huft.
He says he’s making a financial resolution this year to save money and he’s not the only one doing so.
“We’ve already moved most of our cash into bonds away from the market,“ he added
“We’re going to get out of debt and be very careful what we spend our money on so we can retire,“ Linda Miles told News 2.
2008 is leaving some retirees with little left in their 401ks, millions of people out of work, and some out of a home as the housing crisis and the economy crashed.
Still many are counting down to a near year they believe will be prosperous while they also count their blessings.
“I’‘d like to see the economy get better and straighten out. I’m really worried about. Really worried about it,“ commented Hazel Goldberg.
“I think any time you’re happy and appreciative of what you have that you should be very blessed and happy that you have it,“ said Miles.
