Economy increasing the number of people interested in joining the Army

The economy is increasing the number of people interested in joining the Army.  That, combined with more recruiting in recent years, means it may now be more difficult to join.

News 2 spoke with representatives from the U.S. Army, and the Army National Guard.  The Army representative tells us they have seen an increase in people looking for a job.  It has also changed some of the qualifications needed to join.  Right now, they tell us you must have a college degree to join.  GED program slots are full for the year. 

It is possible that that could change again later this year, as recruitment numbers are looking at.
