North Charleston police updated News 2 on the cars damaged while driving on I-26 Wednesday morning.

Police say a driver traveling eastbound on 26 contacted police after he heard a bang and cracking of a rear window on his vehicle in the area between Highway 78 and Ashley Phosphate Road.  He noticed the vehicle had been hit by “something”  and pulled over then contacted police.  There was no bullet found and not known what may have made hit his window.

Another driver reported a second incident.  She drove along I-26 at Highway 78, heard a bang and then her passenger window shattered.  She drove to the Charleston Air Force Base and alerted police.  No bullet was found.

Police searched the area on the ground and using a police helicopter, but found nothing suspicious.

At first, police told News 2 it may have been children playing a prank.  Later, they said the damage may have caused by been debris from the roadway.
