Two men have been arrested following a search for a reported gunman on the campus of Charleston Southern University.

North Charleston Police arrested 20 year old Justin Tyrone Moore of Greenville, SC and 23 year old Tangie C. White of North Charleston on the charge of robbery. The charge stems from an altercation that occurred at about 9 p.m. Monday night on the campus of Charleston Southern University.

In addition, North Charleston Police have identified Moore and White as the suspects in an attempted robbery and an armed robbery that occurred at two separate McDonald’s early Monday morning. Moore and White are each charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of armed robbery. In both incidents, no one was injured.

Moore and White will appear in bond court at 9 o’clock Tuesday evening.

North Charleston police have not released any information about the suspects. School officials said that one of the men is a student at CSU.

Police responded to the campus after calls that there was a gunman on the campus late Monday night. The search led them to a blue sedan at a gas station across from the campus.

I am addressing the comment from the lady underneath me. I am a student at CSU just like her daughter and like her daughter I did not get an alert message either, but alot of people did not get one, it was a glych in the system and CSU officals have told us it is now fixed. Oh and addressing what she said about it's not the CSU she knows, well I hate to say it but just because we are a christian university does not mean that everyone that goes there is a christian, so that is how something like this happend to the University. Just because CSU is a christian University does not mean we are not going to have serious incidents, we are not blocked off from the world. So, that is how something like this happend at CSU. Like many others as a student as CSU I was a little shacken up by what happend even though I dont live on campus, but it is still scary to think something like this happend at my school...its very scary!!! Well, this is just my thoughts on everything.

I am upset, as well. My daughter never received a message that the school or campus was on lockdown. It was only after watching the morning news. I am also wondering how on earth something like this happens. Of course, it's a college campus, but it IS CSU, a Christian campus and this is one of the last things I would have expected. I realize altercations happen everywhere, but this sure isn't the CSU that I know that has always had such high standards.

My daughter is a student at CSU and she did NOT receive an IRIS alert nor did I. She found out via text from a friend who was in the library. I didn't know about the events until today (Tuesday) when she called. While I appreciate the placement of the IRIS system, CSU should at the very least notify the students.
