Colleton County Sheriff’s Office remembers fallen deputy

Walterboro, SC Dozens of former coworkers, friends, and family members gathered in walterboro thursday night. They were there in honor of Dennis Compton, a Deputy for the Colleton County Sherrif’s Office who was shot and killed responding to an alarm in the early morning of August 6th 2008.

Tonight, the focus of his memorial was not the anniversary of his death but of his life. His wife described him as man who loved his job and his family.

Gone but not forgotten. Friends and family are left with memories that will hopefully make each day just a little easier.
