Charleston firefighters honored at national memorial

The nine Charleston firefighters killed in the Sofa Super Store fire last June will be among 110 firefighters honored this weekend at the National Fallen Fighters Memorial in Maryland.

The names of Captain Billy Hutchinson, Captain Mike Benke, Captain Louis Mulke, Engineer Brad Baity, Engineer Mark Kelsey, Asst. Engineer Michael French, Firefighter Brandon Thompson, Firefighter Melvin Champaign, and Firefighter Earl Drayton will join more than 3,200 names of America’s Bravest.
