The mother of a 15 year old who police say crashed while driving without a license or a learner’s permit is facing charges. The accident happened on highway 164, just past the intersection of highway 162 and 164 near hollywood on Wednesday evening.

Charleston county sheriff’s deputies tell us Marshell Denise Jenkins is charged with allowing a minor or ward to drive. They say she was in the car while her 15 year old was driving.

3 of her other children were in the car as well, a 4 month old, a 4 year old and a 7 year old.  Although the car flipped upside down, fortunately nobody had serious injuries.  The 4 month old was hospitalized in serious condition, but that was due to age, and not because of injuries.

Jenkins is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge to face charges of allowing a minor or ward to drive.
