The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that they’ve charged a teacher at First Baptist Church School with soliciting sex from a 12-year-old student there.

The Sheriff’s office charged Charles Fishburne Rhodes III, also known as “DJ”, with asking the student for oral sex.

The Sheriff’s office said the child reported on June 24 that “a few days” after school ended, Rhodes began sending text messages to her cell phone.

She said the two sent text messages back and forth for two to three weeks.

During the conversations, the Sheriff’s office said, Rhodes asked the girl to “come over” to his home and asked a very innappropriate question.

The Sheriff’s Office said the teacher confessed on Wednesday.

Rhodes is charged with criminal solicitation of a minor.
