Berkeley residents express their opinion about a $2600 water line tap-in fee

Tonight, more than 100 Berkeley County residents let County Council know exactly what they thought about a $2600 water line tap-in fee that some residents along Highway 311.  Some folks were happy to get cleaner water at their home, while others say they just can’t afford to pay the county more money.

Toward the end of the public comment session at the end of the monthly Council meeting, Councilman Steve Davis said that he would submit to council an ordinance that would make the fees optional.  He told News 2 that he will work on that, and submit it as soon as possible.
