Berkeley County remembers 8 year old boy, little Billy Barwick
Published: November 2, 2009
This weekend, Berkeley County remembered one of their own. 8 year old Billy Barwick died on Tuesday.
He needed a liver transplant. His dad, Roy Barwick was a good match, so he donated a portion of his liver to Billy.
There were complications, resulting in Billy’s death. Roy has been in law enforcement in Moncks Corner for 15 years.
On Saturday, law enforcement and emergency officials from around Berkeley County came together to remember Billy. The memorial was held at Berkeley High School.
Chaplain James Lewis remembered Billy as “A Great Little Boy.“ He loved to play guitar, soccer and watch wrestling.
Lewis said, “You can protect your child as much as you can, but when it’s time for them to go home, God’s going to call for them, and He’s going to take them home with Him.“
If you would like to help the family, officials have established a memorial fund. Just go to the First Citizen’s Bank and ask to donate to the Billy Barwick fund.
