Animals seized, man wants jury trial

47 malnourished horses, 12 dogs and 5 kittens.. They were all seized from a Bible camp in Colleton County earlier this year…

Tuesday, a hearing for the man responsible for the animals was scheduled to attend a hearing. Eddie Ackerman, whose raised horses on his farm since the 70’s, admits the horses were in bad shape when authorities took them away, but says there was no abuse or neglect..

At Tuesday’s hearing, Ackerman asked for charges to be dropped, and then asked for a jury trial. The trial will resume when a jury is put in place.

The horses are doing much better, most of them gaining 100-150lbs. For now, the stallions are being kept at the Colleton County Animal control, and they’re asking for your help to take care of them..
