Crime scene investigators were still looking for clues this afternoon six days after a cleaning woman vanished while working and two days after a tied up body was discovered.
Fletcher Norfleet a letter carrier for the building where the cleaning woman worked says this was unusual for the area
“This is just like one in a million, one in a million because nothing has ever happened in this building.“
People who work in the upscale office building have been shaken by the loss of someone inside, despite lobby guards and security cameras.
Mike Webb who also works in building says everybody around is on edge.
“We’re all concerned that there could be someone who perpetrated this crime in our midst and are just very hopeful that the police can resolve this quickly.“
Eridania Rodriguez’s family says she’d been planning to leave the job cleaning Two Rector Street after being stalked by an employee who was transferred out.
But the attorney for a third worker elevator operator Joseph Pabon who left work early the night Rodriguez disappeared says it’s Pabon who has gotten detectives’ attention.
Mario Gallucci Pabon’s lawyer says his client is a suspect to police.
“I would characterize him as a suspect in the case. I mean they held him at one point for 25 hours. They have five police cars stationed at his house. Every time he walks out of his house they follow him wherever he goes.“
The victim’s family just wants to know why?
Victor Martinez, the victim’s brother just wants to know why.
“Why her? What has she done? She didn’t do anything. So we know this person snapped. This person is just plain crazy…“ said Victor Martinez, the victim’s brother.
When asked if his client had anything to do with the death of Eridania Rodriguez, Gallucci replied
“None at all. None at all… categorically denies the allegations.“
