A man convicted of raping a 14-year-old boy in 1989 has been arrested for violating his parole by posting lip-syncing videos on YouTube.

Edward Muscare posted videos of himself lip-syncing to the oldies and talking about his pet on YouTube.

One of the conditions of Muscare’s release from jail was that he could not use the Internet.

Authorities said Muscare has posted 130 things on YouTube.

“I’ve seen people lip-syncing before on the Internet. I don’t think that’s terribly unusual. It’s just the fact that he’s on probation and not supposed to be on the Internet,“ said Corporal Jim Vachon of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Because of that, authorities arrested him at his South Carolina home over the weekend and brought him back to Lake County where he remains in jail.

Muscare has been arrested in the past for failing to report that he changed addresses.

An online campaign has sprung up in response to Muscare’s arrest encouraging people to write to the judge and ask him to be lenient.
