T-mobile paying customers who lost data!
So, good news for T-mobile Sidekick owners! Things are looking a bit brighter..
Some of you are reporting the return of lost data. But for those of you who aren’t seeing your information return, there’s still a silver lining. T-mobile says it will compensate you who suffered permanent data loss.
Over the weekend, many owners of Sidekick phones flipped them open, only to find that they lost all the personal information they had stored on their device. And yes, that means everything from contact numbers, photos and other stuff. It all stems from a failure from a set of servers that remotely stored the data.
After a series of outages, users began reporting their Sidekicks had been wiped of all personal information. Over the weekend, T-Mobile and Microsoft warned
customers not to restart their phones, remove the batteries or let the phones run out of power.
For those that lost their data, T-mobile will be sending you a $100 gift card, in the mail, and you don’t have to do anything… And for a look at how to rebuild your contacts, from your computers addressbook, using “vCard”, head to the T-Mobile Forum.
