The 1st public Swine Flu Vaccine clinic moved up
Many eligible people have already gotten the H1N1 vaccine, and with a new shipment in the Lowcountry, the first Swine flu vaccine public clinic has been moved up.
It will be held on Thursday from 5pm-9pm at the DHEC’s Northwoods facility, at 2070 Northbrooks Dr. in North Charleston, Suite A20.
You must call to make an appointment, the number is 953-0090…
This new shipment is still only the flu mist, the injections will be available in the near future. There will be a new shipment of vaccines each week, and eventually, there will be vaccines available to the public.
But, even with this public clinic, you still need to meet some eligibility requirements:
You must be considered in “a risk group” to receive the vaccine.
*That would be a Health care worker or 1st responder..
-Someone who lives or works with a child under 6 months old..
-You must be a healthy child or young adult: between the ages or 2 and 24..
-Remember: Pregnant women, anyone with asthma, diabetes or serious illness can NOT get the nasal mist.
