LOS ANGELES (AP) - As apologies go, it was closer to A-Rod than to Barry Bonds. But Chris Brown’s first post-arrest statement still leaves people with more questions than answers.
In a statement released by his publicist, Brown describes himself as “sorry and saddened” over what took place. He says he’s seeking counseling from clergy, family and friends and is committed to “emerging a better person.“
Brown was arrested a week ago in Los Angeles in a domestic violence investigation. Published and online reports said the victim is his girlfriend and fellow singer Rihanna.
In his statement, Brown doesn’t mention what he is so “sorry and saddened” about, saying he can’t discuss specifics because the case is in the legal system.
He also says much of what has been reported on in the media about the incident is wrong. But, again, he doesn’t get into specifics, other than to say he hasn’t postedany messages on Facebook or any other Web sites.
