You might not be able to attend Hollywood’s biggest party, so why not bring the oscar celebration home?
No Academy Awards bash would be complete without some bubbly.
Professional party planner Mindy Weiss recommends a “Red Carpet Fizz”.
It’s a cocktail made with a half an ounce of pomegranate juice, a third of an ounce of orange liqueur, fresh raspberries and champagne.
For those guests who don’t want alcohol Weiss suggests sparkling water mixed with more pomegranate juice and fresh raspberries.
As far as the food goes, keep it simple.
Frozen hors d’oeuvres are fine, but make the presentation spectacular.
“Another great way to personalize your Academy Award party is to actually blow-up a poster of the film. And then I mounted foam board on the back. I think it’s a great way to celebrate the movies that are up for movie of the year,“ Weiss said.
