Just in case you “haven’t” gotten enough couch time watching the Super Bowl, there are several DVD’s coming out this week.
Tough times force lifelong platonic friends Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen to take extreme measures in the comedy “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”.
And that title explains just what the pair have to resort to in order to make financial ends meet. At the same time, they also realize there may be something more to their relationship. This one’s rated R.
A chance encounter could wind up having lifelong implications for a couple of teens in the comedy “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist”.
Michael Cera and Kat Dennings star as the title couple….two teens who meet by accident but wind up pairing for a very long night touring the big city music scene. This one’s rated PG-13.
One of the final performances from Bernie Mac is showcased in the comedy “Soul Men”.
He co-stars with Samuel L. Jackson as a couple of soul singing legends, estranged for 20 years.
But they’re brought back together for a tribute concert to their recently deceased former band leader.
And that means a cross country trip—together. “Soul Men” is rated R.
Dakota fanning stars as a young girl still trying to cope with the death of her mom in “The Secret Life of Bees”.
Fanning goes on the run with her caretaker, played by Jennifer Hudson, to escape Fanning’s abusive dad.
They wind up at the home of three unusual sisters, where Fanning and Hudson wind up learning about life and themselves.
“The Secret Life of Bees” is rated PG-13.
