Mark Wahlberg’s actually playing a maverick cop in the big screen version of “Max Payne”.
This one’s based on the graphic novel about a cop out for vengeance against those who murdered his family.
But as he gets closer to the truth, he also gets closer to potentially supernatural forces that may have had a hand in the deed.
This one’s unrated.
There’s switch throwing all over the place in the animated comedy “Igor”.
John Cusack provides the voice for the title character.
He’s the loyal assistant to a mad scientist, but he wants to prove he too, can create evil, but his own experiment winds up having the opposite result an all too sweet female Franken-monster.
“Igor” is rated PG.
Bill Murray’s the mayor of an underground city that’s about to go dark in the fantasy adventure “City of Ember”.
Saorise Ronan also stars as one of two teens trying to discover why the city’s massive power generator is failing and more importantly, how they can fix it.
Tom Hanks gets a producer credit on this one.
“City of Ember” is rated PG.
And it’s not just any face but one that captivates a small town in the Film “Henry Poole is Here”.
Luke Wilson stars as a disillusioned man who’s given up on life until his neighbor discovers the stain and unleashes what appear to be its miraculous powers.
Radha Mitchell co-stars in this one.
“Henry Poole is Here” is rated PG.
The Japanese occupation of China in 1937 provides the backdrop for the real life drama “The Children of Huang Shi”.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars as an English journalist who teams up with a Chinese leader played by Chow Yun Fat to lead a group of 60 orphaned children over mountains and through deserts to safety.
Radha Mitchell’s in this one as well.
“The Children of Huang Shi” is rated R.
