If you need to entertain the kids this weekend, there’s a new movie opening that might just do the trick.
Made by the creators of ‘Shrek’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda’, Monsters vs. Aliens in 3d remember, is a delightful tale of an ordinary woman, a bride to be named Susan, who just before her wedding is hit by a meteor with catastrophic results.
She’s voiced by Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon.
Now Susan is soon captured by the government and whisked to a secret facility for all monsters.
And there she meets her new neighbors, blob, with the unmistakable voice of Seth Rogan and doctor cockroach PhD., appropriately voiced by house star Hugh Laurie.
Keifer Sutherland’s voice is hardly recognizable as general W.R. Monger in charge of the monsters who will be recruited to defend earth against invading aliens.
And who better than comedy central star Stephen Colbert to voice the harried president.
Movie critic Jeffrey Lyons said Monsters vs. Aliens is witty, fast moving, with some very funny references and well cast celebrity voices making it entertaining, no matter which generation you inhabit nor which side you’re rooting for.
