They were hidden away for nearly four decades, but now several iconic dresses worn by Marilyn Monroe are on display for the first time.

Dresses, sketches, and wardrobe notes are available for public viewing at a gallery in Palm Springs, California.

Many of the dresses were specially created for Monroe, several by famed designer William Travilla.

The dresses were stored in boxes and cabinets in Travilla’s home and weren’t found until after his death.

Featured dresses come from movies such as “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.“

The exhibit runs until the end of March and proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
