GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina university plans programs this fall to teach students how to start the small businesses.

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro program is aimed at small business because professors think those will create more jobs over the next 30 years.

The News & Record of Greensboro reported Thursday that students in the program will study courses including health care, family business, franchising and technology.

Business professor Dianne Welsh says the program should be helpful because 60 percent of the people who start small businesses have never had a business course. Welsh says the course also can be helpful to workers in large businesses.
