What to do when a TORNADO WATCH is issued:
-Review tornado safety plans with the family so if a warning is issued you can take immediate action
-Check flashlights to be sure batteries are still in good working order in case of a power outage
-Test your NOAA Weather Alert Radio to be sure you can receive warnings and other important information

What to do when a TORNADO WARNING is issued:
-Put your tornado safety plan into action immediately
-Go to the lowest level of your home
-Put as many walls between you and the outside world
-Best place is a small interior room such as a closet or bathroom
-Do not leave your shelter until the warning expires or you are given the all clear
-Abandon mobile homes and automobiles, go to the nearest sturdy building or find the lowest spot possible

What to do when a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is issued:
-Stay away from doors and windows
-Do not venture outside. Lightning, destructive straight line winds, and large hail all present a threat to life

What to do when a FLASH FLOOD or FLOOD WATCH is issued:
-If in a flood prone area, review evacuation plans

What to do when a FLASH FLOOD or FLOOD WARNING is issued:
-Evacuate flood prone areas immediately.
-Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion
-Never drive into flooded roadways
