COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - It’s back to nail biting time for
Clemson’s Jack Leggett and South Carolina’s Ray Tanner when the
Major League Baseball draft resumes.
Rounds six through 30 are taking place Wednesday, with rounds
31-50 finishing up Thursday.
Only one Clemson player has been taken so far. Slugging first
baseman Ben Paulsen was picked up by the Colorado Rockies in the
third round Tuesday night.
South Carolina saw two of its signees chosen in the opening
three rounds.
Shortstop Chris Owings of Leesville was selected by Arizona in
the so-called “sandwich round” between the first and second
rounds. Catcher-third baseman Wil Myers of North Carolina went to
Kansas City in the third round.
