One year before election, gubernatorial hopefuls to debate

Columbia, SC…On Tuesday, Nov. 3, one year before the 2010 election, ten of South Carolina’s gubernatorial hopefuls will meet in a joint debate that will be televised on ETV.
Hosted by the SC Natural Resources Society, the five Republicans and five Democrats vying for the state’s top office will discuss issues surrounding the Palmetto State’s natural resources, especially with regard to conservation and economic development.
This debate will mark the first time in SC history that the primary candidates from both parties will share the stage at the same time.
The debate will be taped at Roquemore Auditorium on the campus of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg from 6-7:30 p.m., and will then be broadcast statewide beginning at 8 p.m. It will also be streamed over the Internet from ETV’s Web site, http://www.scetv.org/candidatespotlight.
The 90-minute program, entitled “The Big Picture Election Special: Spotlight on the Candidates,“ will be moderated by Mark Quinn, host of “The Big Picture,“ Nigel Robertson, news anchor for WYFF News 4 in Greenville, and Tony Bartelme, an environmental reporter for the Charleston Post & Courier.
