Palmetto Family Council launches “Stand with Jenny” campaign

Palmetto Family Council, a South Carolina faith-based public policy group, announced Monday that it’s launched an online “Stand with Jenny” campaign encouraging support of First Lady Jenny Sanford.

The organization said it wants South Carolinians to show their support for Mrs. Sanford “for her strength, her courage, her commitment to her family, and her example” during the ongoing crisis in her family.“

Governor Mark Sanford admitted last week that he had an affair with a woman from Argentina.

By visiting a site setup by Palmetto Family, people can log in and sign an online message to the Mrs. Sanford.

The message reads in part, “Your willingness to seek reconciliation while refusing to sacrifice your dignity or compromise the truth is an example for us all.  Your steadfast focus on Marshall, Landon, Bolton and Blake throughout this crisis in your family is an inspiration, especially for the women and girls of our state.“

The Palmetto Family Council said “Stand with Jenny” was established to answer the large volume of telephone calls and emails still being received at its offices in support of Mrs. Sanford, especially from women.
The organization is based in Columbus and is associated nationally with Focus on the Family.
