Deputies responded to a home on Fanwood Street just before 6 a.m. this morning on a report that a 47-year-old man was found dead.
News 2 spoke to the man’s mother; Loretta Lake said she was home at the time and didn’t hear anything. Officials have not said how the man died. The coroner is conducting an autopsy and will release information later.
Dan Moon of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s office says a suspect is in custody and is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner. The suspect’s name has not been released. Lake says the suspect and her son knew each other.
