More than 15-hundred people packed the rooms at the International Longshoreman Association’s headquarters in Downtown Charleston to watch history in the making, as Barak Obama became the next president of the United States.

There were tears, cheers, and laughter throughout the night as many watched the election results come down over a jumbo projector screen, and celebrations took place through out the night.  Many say Obama’s victory is a victory for America.  Obama supporter Peter Wilborn says, “This is the most important day in the United States political history.  It feels so great to be an American, that’s just amazing to me.“
Sam Holmes says, “It means that in my lifetime all the dreams that Martin Luther King had for us as a people has finally come true and now our children will have that chance to witness something, and know they can do anything if they just try.“

Many say they plan to make trip to washington dc in january for the inauguration.
