UPDATE: North Charleston man arrested in deadly hit-and-run accident

The S.C. Highway Patrol says officers have arrested the driver wanted in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident that killed a husband and wife in downtown Charleston.
Officers arrested Leonard Bernard Gregory, 24, just before noon Thursday in North Charleston. Lance Cpl. Bob Beres with the Highway Patrol says tips from the community and witnesses helped lead to the arrest.
Gregory is charged wtih two counts of leaving the scene involving death, two counts of wreckless homicide, and his fifth officense of driving under suspension.
The accident happened Sunday night in downtown charleston and claimed the lives of 63-year-old Johnny Vice and his wife Betty.
Charleston Police say an officer stopped Gregory’s car at the corner of President and Moultrie Streets, but Gregory then sped away, crashing into the Vice’s car.
He ran out of the car and officer say another car picked him up, while two other passengers fled on foot.
